Neither path is more right than the other; both are simply a way of keeping them close.

Natural clay is fragile in the way ceramic is, so it's worth handling with care and avoiding any impact. A soft, dry cloth keeps it clean, avoid water or liquid cleaners, which can affect the clay's surface, and keep it away from bathrooms or areas of sustained moisture. If it isn't buried, a clay urn can be displayed indoors or out.
