Bringing them home.
For the love that remains.

Rest By Me was created for the moments that follow farewell — when routines change, but love stays present.

Our pieces exist to honour the bond you shared, in a way that feels gentle, personal, and true to your space.

It began with Joanna.

Rest By Me was founded by Joanna, a sculpture, product designer and lifelong animal lover who has shared her life with many pets over the years.

As each one passed, Joanna found herself asking the same quiet question: where do they go now? There was nowhere that felt right, nothing that belonged in the home, nothing that honoured their presence without feeling clinical or hidden away.

For years, her own dogs sat in a cupboard above the fridge, out of sight, because nothing on the market felt right for the room she lived in.

Rest By Me grew from that absence. From the desire to create a place for animals who were deeply loved, and still deeply missed and to put them somewhere that felt right for them and the home.

Designed by hand, on the Mornington Peninsula

Every piece is designed by hand by Joanna at her studio on the Mornington Peninsula, then produced in small runs so quality and detail hold across each batch.

Every design is hand crafted from clay, then 3D scanned into a mould. Depending on the materials, it's then made into the designs that you can see on our shop.

Small-batch production is part of how the pieces stay quiet rather than mass-produced, each one is considered individually.

Memorial pieces designed for modern homes.

We create considered pieces that feel intentional and beautiful — designed to live quietly within your space, rather than hidden away.

  • Ash-holding pieces — made to keep them close in a way that feels calm and discreet.
  • Symbolic memorials — created simply as a place for remembrance.
  • Outdoor memorial posts — for gardens and outdoor spaces, built to live in their favourite spot outside.

There is no right way to remember. Only what feels right for you.

The materials we work with

Every material we work in was chosen for a specific reason, not just for how it looks, but for what it can hold and how long it will last.

  • Beechwood — a soft, light wood, but still a hardwood underneath. It's easy to shape into fine detail, and strong enough to last.
  • Ceramic — cast into any shape, including raised detail and texture straight from the mould.
  • Resin — one of the most durable materials available. It can be coloured and cast into almost any form, and it will last.
  • Bronze — hard enough to live outdoors permanently. It weathers rather than wears, developing a patina over time rather than deteriorating — which is why it's used for pieces built to mark a spot outside.

Our philosophy on pet memorialisation

We don't think there's a correct way to grieve an animal, or a fixed timeline for it. Some people want a piece on display from day one. Others prefer something quieter, tucked onto a shelf, that doesn't draw the eye.

Both are right and exactly what Rest By Me was build for. Our pieces can hold as much or as little presence in a room as you need it to, without ever feeling out of place.
