A round beechwood urn wrapped in a leather collar, finished with an included name tag, designed to feel way more personal than just material or shape. The collar wrap is customisable, use the one provided or swap in your dogs collar. A tag is provided, just send it off to get engraved, add a photo tag or add any accessory that meant something to the two of you. It's a classical, easy-on-the-eye shape that looks at home anywhere, peaceful rather than ornamental.

Every piece is designed by hand and produced in small runs, so small variations in tone and grain between individual pieces are part of the material rather than a flaw.

Beechwood was chosen for this piece because it's a soft, light timber that's still hard enough to hold and protect your pet's ashes for good, special enough for the purpose, but easy to sculpt into fine detail. It's a hardwood built to last, developing a soft patina over years indoors rather than showing wear.

Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from damp to protect the finish, and a soft, dry cloth is all it needs day to day. If you prefer a different material, we also have resin, clay or beechwood.

It comes in two sizes: Small (D16 x H8cm, 650ml / 39.67 cubic inches) and Large (D22 x H10cm, 1500ml / 91.54 cubic inches), giving genuine flexibility across cat and dog breeds of different sizes. The large in particular is one of our higher-capacity indoor pieces, suited to bigger dogs. The urn opens to hold ashes securely inside and is designed for indoor display, on a shelf, mantel or bedside table.

As a general guide, one kilogram of your pet's body weight equates to approximately one cubic inch of urn capacity. So a 10kg dog would need an urn with at least 10 cubic inches of capacity. Several of our urns are available in two sizes to accommodate different breeds. Most pieces in the Rest By Me collection are functional urns designed to hold your pet's ashes. Each product listing indicates whether a piece holds ashes or is a symbolic memorial. Our outdoor figurine pieces work differently, the bronze figurine and post mark the spot while ashes are placed in the ground beneath.

This depends on the piece. Most indoor urns open at the top or base to allow ashes to be placed inside. Our clay urn can also be used as a biodegradable option, if ashes are removed from their plastic bag and placed directly inside, the entire urn can be buried and will biodegrade naturally. Full instructions are included with each piece on arrival.
