Where our resin, bronze and ceramic pieces lean sculptural or polished, this one is deliberately earthen: a warm, matte, tactile material that feels grounded rather than ornamental.

What sets this urn apart from the rest of the range is that it doubles as a fully biodegradable memorial. Ashes can be placed directly inside (removed from their plastic bag first) and the whole urn buried in the ground, where the clay will break down naturally over time, a meaningful option if you'd rather return your pet to the earth than keep them on display. You could also do both, keeping the urn indoors for now with the choice to bury it later. Each urn includes a name tag.

Clay is a more delicate material than our wood, resin or bronze pieces, so it's handled with a little more care. It's best kept somewhere stable and away from damp if displayed indoors long-term.

As a general guide, one kilogram of your pet's body weight equates to approximately one cubic inch of urn capacity. So a 10kg dog would need an urn with at least 10 cubic inches of capacity. Several of our urns are available in two sizes to accommodate different breeds. Most pieces in the Rest By Me collection are functional urns designed to hold your pet's ashes. Each product listing indicates whether a piece holds ashes or is a symbolic memorial. Our outdoor figurine pieces work differently, the bronze figurine and post mark the spot while ashes are placed in the ground beneath.

This depends on the piece. Most indoor urns open at the top or base to allow ashes to be placed inside. Our clay urn can also be used as a biodegradable option, if ashes are removed from their plastic bag and placed directly inside, the entire urn can be buried and will biodegrade naturally. Full instructions are included with each piece on arrival.
